Positive Dialogue was for a 4 year period the communication partner for the digital industry’s most prestigious award ceremony, The Bookmarks. Our PR campaign communicated the award winning work being done by South Africa’s leading digital agencies to a local and international media landscape.

The IAB Bookmark Awards, an IAB SA initiative, rewards excellence in digital and recognises the powerful impact interactive has on the overall marketing mix. The Bookmark Awards sets the benchmark for tech, digital and leading edge innovation. The award winning work inspires and educates the industry about the power to build brands through creative and high impact digital executions that deliver measurable results.

 

 

CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES

 

  • Educate target audiences about the event itself, the purpose of the initiative and the creative and progressive work happening across the various digital categories.

  • Create a sustainable communication platform by engaging media through consistently innovative tactics.

  • Support the Bookmarks campaign objectives of elevating the Awards and digital landscape by creating an awareness of the initiative within the various target audiences that translates into desire to enter and become an active member.

 

 

MECHANICS

 

Ahead of the IAB Digital Summit and Bookmarks Awards, PDC implemented an extensive media relations campaign, managed all media partnerships and a media accreditation process.

 

The IAB Digital Summit in association with BBC.com included eleven internationally renowned speakers and offered digital marketing practitioners the opportunity to access consolidated ideas and the latest strategies that are currently enabling international digital industries to grow their product base, increase their market share and create omni channels to market. In addition to this, Think Tank sessions were available to all attendees after the summit.

 

The Bookmarks Awards ceremony was hosted by Anne Hirsch to an audience of over 500 people. A total of 13 Gold, 34 Silver, 44 Bronze certificates, 11 Individual Awards and 4 Special Honours winners were awarded on the night

 

 

MEASURABLE RESULTS

 

Within the 6 month Awards project campaign period Positive Dialogue generated:

  • A 1:1 PR value of R3 088 533m across all media genres.

  • Highlights included: SABC 2 Morning Live (TV), Good Morning Africa (TV), SABC Network (TV), Safm (Radio), Power FM (Radio), Hot 91.9FM (Radio), Biz Community (Online), MarkLives (Online) and 24.com (Online).

  • 20 Key industry journalists were accredited to attend the Awards Ceremony.
